A psychological evaluation helps assess cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning using standardized tests. The goal is to identify concerns, provide an accurate diagnosis, and create personalized treatment recommendations.
A psychological evaluation is a medical necessity procedure that will focus on referral questions and areas of concern with the purpose of identifying the condition that is interfering with the individual’s level of functioning. This evaluation will include reviewing and selecting the most appropriate tests to conduct the evaluation, administering and scoring the tests and questionnaires, interpreting and writing a report with the results, diagnosis, and recommendations, and a feedback session with the individual and/or the family. The whole evaluation may take up to 11 hours.
