A psychological evaluation gathers and integrates data to evaluate a person’s abilities, behaviors, and emotions. The psychologist will administer standardized tests to assess cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning. The purpose of a psychological evaluation is to make a diagnosis and provide treatment recommendations. At Neurobehavioral Health Corp., we want to identify the cause of your mental condition, creating a unique and comprehensive battery that will give a clear picture of how you perform compared to your group norm to develop an effective intervention.
A psychological evaluation is a medical necessity procedure that will focus on referral questions and areas of concern with the purpose of identifying the condition that is interfering with the individual’s level of functioning. This evaluation will include reviewing and selecting the most appropriate tests to conduct the evaluation, administering and scoring the tests and questionnaires, interpreting and writing a report with the results, diagnosis, and recommendations, and a feedback session with the individual and/or the family. The whole evaluation may take up to 11 hours.
