Neurofeedback is a non-invasive, drug-free therapy that helps individuals regulate brain activity to improve cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning using real-time EEG brainwave feedback.
The EEG will reflect specific alpha, beta, delta, theta, or gamma waves. Through operant conditioning, a voluntary learning process, the person will learn to self-control the brain waves that are too high or too slow using immediate visual and auditory feedback. In neurofeedback therapy, the therapist will use different treatment protocols, including alpha, beta, delta, theta, and gamma protocols in the context of psychotherapy. Neurofeedback may stimulate the brain’s plasticity and help to improve mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, memory problems, TBI, PTSD, and insomnia. It may also improve peak performance and brain optimization. At Neurobehavioral Health Corp., we received training accredited by BCIA in neurofeedback, and we use medically certified and FDA-registered equipment.
